Chi-no-wa Kuguri in Ichikawa City

In this ceremony well-wishers pass through a large ring made
of thatch, called "chi-no-wa", and then pray to the gods to have
their sins, impurities, and misfortunes taken away for a year.
The ceremony itself is called "chi-no-wa-kuguri", or literally "
Passing through a thatch circle". After everyone passes through
the chi-no-wa, it is set ablaze.
